A 150-bed hospital located in beautiful Los Angeles County is looking for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology Technologist. This is a full-time, day position working 10-hour shifts.

Our client is known for bringing health care and education to communities from the redwood forests to the beach shores of Orange county – and everywhere in between. In Southern California, this hospital provides care throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, High Desert and beyond.

Salary Range: $94,000-136,000

This particular position is also offering a $7,000 sign-on bonus for eligible hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Cath Lab Manager, Cardiologist, Electrophysiologist, Vascular surgeon, and Radiologist, operates radiographic equipment to obtain radiographic images of designated portions of the body to include cardiovascular, peripheral, endovascular, and neurological systems. Performs all phases of cardiac, peripheral, vascular, and neuro-interventional to patients in Cardiac Cath Lab in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the values and mission of the organization.

Skill Requirements:

  • Interpreting the orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional
  • Explaining what will happen during the CT scan to patients
  • Positioning patients properly to take the necessary images
  • Administering IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging
  • Examining images to ensure they’re usable
  • Updating patient medical information
  • Cleaning and maintaining CT scan equipment
  • Keeping inventory of CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform computed tomography (CT) procedures
  • Position patients and answer any questions they have regarding the procedure
  • Ensure the proper dose of radionuclides are administered, starting IV lines if needed
  • Monitor patient discomfort throughout the procedure
  • Review images for quality
  • Accurately document the procedure and update patient records

Education, Certification, & Experience:

  • Completion of AMA Approved Radiologic Technologist training program.
  • Approved RCIS training program; or
  • Cath Lab specific on-the-job training.
  • California Radiologic Technologist upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
  • National Registered Technologist – Radiography – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 1 year of hire; or
  • National Registered Technologist – Cardiac-Interventional Radiography within 1 year of hire; or
  • National Registered Technologist – Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography within 1 year of hire; or
  • National Registered Technologist – Vascular-Interventional Radiography within 1 year of hire; or
  • National Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist – Cardiovascular Credentialing International within 1 year of hire.
  • Minimum 1 year Cath Lab/IR Experience.
  • Fluoroscopy License, Certified by State of California (preferred)
