Position & Client Overview:
A large and prestigious healthcare system located in the heart of beautiful Nashville is looking for an HLA/Immunogenetics Medical Technologist to work at their busy and high-volume level one trauma hospital on the day shift. Our client is willing to train Medical Technologist who is proficient in Flow Cytometry, Molecular and HLA testing.
A $5,000-10,000 sign-on bonus is being offered for this role.
Salary Range: $50,000-85,000

Job Summary:
Job Summary:
Duties include performing high complexity histocompatibility testing, molecular typing, antibody monitoring and flow cytometry testing for transplant, disease association, and drug resistance or susceptibility. Responsible for the accurate performance of laboratory tests.
Skill Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in laboratory testing procedures, such as HLA antigen testing, antibody screening, and flow cytometric crossmatching.
- Knowledge of Immunology and Genetics: Understanding of immunogenetics and transplantation immunology is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to interpret complex biological data.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial for collaborating with transplant teams and sharing vital patient information.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) typing using molecular methods
- Interpretation of HLA alleles and haplotype frequency.
- Isolate Lymphocytes from Peripheral Blood, Spleen, and Lymph nodes.
- Perform cellular based antibody screening by Flow Cytometry Cross match
- Perform Antibody Screening, Antibody Specificity Analysis, by Luminex solid phase methods, initial analysis and data interpretation.
- Generate initial cross match and antibody screening reports for manager and director for final review.
- Combine HLA typing, flow cross match and antibody screening results to generate the first revision of the Virtual Cross match Report for final director revision and sign off.
- Able to collect requests from transplant coordinators and physicians to be transferred to the laboratory Manager and Director.
Education, Certification, & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- MLS(ASCP) or CHT(ABHI) or CHS(ABHI) or eligible
